Cambion 450-3704 is a solder mount socket for 0.040" (1.02mm) diameter pins. It acts as a receptacle on PCB to create removable electrical connections. When packed with custom carrier tape and reel, it supports automatic pick-and-place for SMT insertion, replacing manual assembly. Its built-in beryllium copper spring delivers consistent contact performance for repeated plugging and unplugging. It also facilitates easy debugging, maintenance and component replacement without PCB desoldering.
Problem:
The customer requests the part to stay in the pocket in their required orientation for SMT, and Kapton tape will be used. They also want the part to be fixed and not move inside the pocket.
Solution:
Sinho custom carrier tape design: Tight tolerances are required for parts in both the A and B directions to ensure they are securely held in place without any movement. Additionally, the orientation of the parts is crucial, so we always place components in the pockets for customer confirmation. Besides, the thickness of the Kapton pad must be taken into account for the SMT pickup process.
